Dr. Sawyer has been practicing dentistry in the Irmo area for over 20 years. He is a member of the ADA, SCDA, Greater Columbia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He enjoys treating the entire family – from pediatrics to geriatrics.

He and his wife, Beth, have been married for 26 years and they have two sons, Andrew and Neil. Dr. Sawyer enjoys golf, running, gardening and everything to do with Clemson University.

Dr. Sawyer is a native South Carolinian, born and raised in Georgetown. A lover of the coast, he studied marine biology at Clemson University and the College of Charleston. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1983.

After completing his dental education, Dr. Sawyer served for 3 years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserve where he attained the rank of colonel, retiring in 2006.

Tiffany Grube

Hi my name is Tiffany! I am the newest addition to the team. I am a native of Irmo, South Carolina. After graduating from high school, I attended Midlands Technical College where I graduated with an Associate Degree in Health Science. I obtained my license to practice Hygiene in May 2007. I have been with Dr. Sawyer since August of 2007.

Outside of work my interests center on my family. My favorite past time is being with my pride & joy, my daughter Peyton.

Veronica Kern

Hi – My name is Veronica. I have been a hygienist for 5 years and have worked in both periodontal and general practices. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science. I am a native of Michigan and have been in South Carolina since 2006. I enjoy working with patients to achieve their oral health goals. It is very important to me that patients are educated, comfortable, and confident when making dental health decisions. I believe that an educated patient is an empowered patient.

Barbara Kogut

Hi! I’m Barb and I’m the first person to greet you! I started working with Dr. Sawyer as Front Office Manager in 2006.

I graduated from a small college 30 years ago with an Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Science and have been in the medical or dental field ever since.

I grew up in Buffalo, NY and moved to Columbia in 1995 with my husband and two children. We have settled into the Southern Lifestyle quite nicely.

Susan Summers

Hi, I’m Susan, Dr. Sawyer’s assistant. I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I moved to the United States before I was 2 years old. I was raised in Dayton, Ohio. Shortly after high school, I joined the U.S. Army Reserves where I obtained my training for dental assisting. I also attended Wright State University and Midlands Technical College. I moved to Columbia with my husband and two boys in 1994.
